What a great idea for a kid who wants a dog, but you don't want or can't have one. It walks kinda slow, so as the kid gets older he won't enjoy it as much. the interactivity is a bit unpredictable (like a dog), but you pet the dog's hand and it coos a bit or barks happily. Very fun.

My beef with this product is that it would be a bargain at 30 dollars and probably fairly priced at 40, but [...] is an awful lot for something that does as little as this product. It's way over-priced and that's the reason I give it only 3 stars.

It does come with batteries installed and it's turned on, so it barks when you move the box. That gave me a serious giggle as it sat in the back of my car, barking when I made a turn.

I think a 4 or 5 year girl will like it. I think a boy won't as much, and I think 7 or 8 is probably too old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not a lot of fun, August 26, 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
GoGo the walking pup is cute and is quite a bit of fun. It responds to being pet in a way that makes you want to pet it more. We have seen some people react to it as if it was a real dog, trying to call him and rubbing him on his neck. If you ignore GoGo it will whine for attention but then go to sleep after a little while. If you move near one of its sensors it will wake up and bark for attention. My son, who is autistic, enjoys playing with him and petting him and even trying to feed him. He has been a little rough with GoGo and GoGo has endured the abuse without any problems. I think the long term enjoyment of GoGo is probably limited because GoGo really can only do so much. But don't be surprised if you find yourself petting GoGo while he is sitting on your lap and you're watching TV.

My daughter was dying for this for her 4th birthday. It was the only thing she wanted. She even had a dream she had gotten it a few nights before her party and was so sad when she got up in the morning to get him and he was not there. Anyway, she got it at her birthday party and she was so happy. She walked around with it and took him everywhere. She "walked" him a little but mostly carried him around because he is quite slow moving. She was so sweet and gentle with him like it was a real puppy. That night we shut him off and put him away. In the morning as soon as she woke up she went over to play with him and he wasn't working, he would make noises, but not walk. I figured the batteries were going dead so I changed them, and then it would do nothing. So I put the old batteries back in and nothing. I worked on him a little over the next few days changing batteries, making sure the cord was all the way in and reading the manual and internet for anything to help me fix her new... Read more
